MAEGER (MAEGER – Tigray Women’s Association in North America [MTWANA]) is a legally registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. We are dedicated to working in solidarity and partnership with women’s rights organizations globally to achieve our mission.

Mission
To empower Tigrayan women in the USA and Tigray Regional State/Ethiopia by providing access to education, legal awareness, and economic opportunities, thereby promoting equality and protecting them from violence.
Vision
A future where every Tigrayan woman has the capacity to lead, thrive economically, and live free from the threat of domestic violence, early, or arranged marriage.

Organizational Structure
MAEGER
MAEGER was established as a non-profit association under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. It is structured to be operational for an indefinite period, focused on long-term systemic change and support for Tigrayan women.
Our association is governed by a dedicated structure designed for maximum impact, accountability, and reach. This framework ensures that every resource is effectively deployed to serve Tigrayan women both at home and abroad.
Leadership Structure

The highest governing body, comprising all registered members.
Board Members
Consists of 21 members, elected by the Congress, responsible for strategy and oversight.
The Executive Team
Consists of 7 members (Chair Person, Vice Chair Person, Secretary, Treasurer, Accountant, Research, and Public Relation), responsible for day-to-day operations and implementation of the annual plan.
