Healing Wounds and Rebuilding Lives Through Medical Care

Healing Wounds and Rebuilding Lives Through Medical Care

We are grateful to share an update on Maeger Tigray Support’s ongoing health project, which continues to provide critical medical assistance to individuals affected by conflict. To date, the project has supported approximately 400 injured people through essential medical services, including life-changing surgeries, specialized eye care, and other urgent treatments.

Many of those receiving care are young people whose lives were disrupted by violence beyond their control. They represent just a fraction of the countless innocent civilians living with the lasting consequences of war. Their injuries are not only physical; they carry deep emotional and psychological scars that reflect the fear, loss, and uncertainty experienced by entire communities.

Access to proper medical treatment can mean the difference between lifelong disability and renewed independence. Through timely care, skilled medical professionals, and sustained community support, survivors are given the opportunity to heal, regain mobility and vision, and restore a sense of dignity and hope for the future.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Fitsum, our dedicated eye specialist, whose expertise, compassion, and unwavering commitment have played a vital role in making this project possible. His service has transformed lives and brought renewed hope to patients and their families.

Maeger Tigray Support stands in solidarity with all those who have been injured, displaced, or traumatized by conflict. As we continue this work, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for peace and delivering lifesaving care where it is needed most.

Together, through compassion and action, healing becomes possible.
